Keith
"Paddington" Richards
Musical Director.
Paddington has been connected
with music industry for over thirty-five years. Throughout
this period of time he has acted as Musical Director, for some
of the most famous names in show business, and alongside great
bandleaders such as Joe Loss.
Paddington began to fall in
love with music at a very early age. He started his musical
training at the age of four; and as his mother was a fine
piano teacher and his father a classically trained tenor, it
was inevitable that music would be his chosen career.
In the early years it was
recognised that Keith had a natural "timbre" in his
voice and he put this to good use as chorister. But his love
for the piano soon took over and this became his main
instrument. It was not long before he moved into the composing
and arranging of music.
Keith had many successes with
various bands but most acclaim with Whiskey Mac which after
winning New Faces signed up recording contracts and toured the
world.
More recently Keith has been
looking after the musical needs of the Daniels family and in
the last few years he has toured with Debbie, Paul and Martin
on various shows and concerts. Keith was proud to be part of
the creative team behind Debbie Magee's "Ballet
Imaginaire"
Keith has written countless
scores for pantomimes all over the country and co-writes most
of the songs in the pantomime with writer Chris Moreno.
Lincoln has always had a special place in his heart because he
is a genuine "Yellow Belly" Being born in Grantham.
It is also where he met his wife, 'Allo 'Allo star Sue Hodge
who played the good fairy in last year's pantomime Jack and
the Beanstalk. Together they have now formed "Mimi and
the Boy" performing for corporate events and cruises.
